Applying AI: Start Small, Solve Real Problems
The real value of AI lies in solving actual problems, not chasing the hype
If you’ve paid any attention to the headlines around business, technology, and AI the second half of this year you’ve probably seen a few references to bubbles bursting, or questions like “I thought an AI revolution was coming… Where is it?”.
While there have been plenty of flash-in-the-pan businesses that have come and gone, the business value being derived from AI is starting on a much smaller scale. Organizations that are seeing real returns are analyzing their internal processes and operations for places where generative AI is a grand slam fit.
Here’s the thing…
The fundamentals of building successful software still apply. No matter what is being built it is imperative that the solution be built with a singular focus on solving a real problem. AI solutions are no exception, and it’s the reason so many AI-based products have come and gone over the past couple years.
Every technology project needs to start by identifying and defining the problem you seek to solve. Any development done before this is a waste of time and resources.
